Jane Whitfield, President

Jane Whitfield has twenty years of experience in developing and implementing targeted strategic plans and working with leaders to create highly successful teams. She spent 15 years as an executive in the nonprofit and higher education sectors, including Executive Director of Advancement for Berkeley Law at UC Berkeley, Vice President of Advancement at the Graduate Theological Union, Executive Director of the California Culinary Academy Educational Foundation, and Director of Development & Communications for Bay Area Legal Aid. Prior to her work in the nonprofit sector, Jane was a nationally recognized leader in sales and marketing. With her broad professional experience, Jane has a breadth of knowledge in key functional areas including leadership development, fundraising, sales, communications, marketing, accounting, program planning, evaluation, and assessment. She is a specialist in producing integrated and comprehensive organizational strategies that clarify goals and achieve results.

Jane is a sought after speaker and panel moderator. She has given presentations for the Commonwealth Club of California, the Association of Fundraising Professionals, United Way of the Bay Area, the Society of Women Engineers, the National Legal Aid and Defenders Association, and many other organizations. Jane is past sponsorship chair of National Philanthropy Day, advisor to MissRepresentation.org, member of the leadership council of Women's Initiative for Self Employment, and is a member of the advisory board for United Way of the Bay Area’s Women's Leadership Council. 

She is an experienced senior executive, a qualified Myers Briggs Type Indicator® practitioner, trained in administering the FIRO-B® assessment, and certified in mediation and conflict resolution.  Jane studied Education and Anthropology, and graduated with honors from Mills College.  In addition to her career, she loves sailing on the bay, playing tennis, and cooking for friends and family.
